Countries with unpredictable weather often require vehicles to carry tire chains. In Canada, the United States and most of Europe, NORSOXX snow socks for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles meet snow chain requirements.

  • United States

    For passenger cars, NORSOXX is a textile traction device approved in all 50 US states.
    In the US, NORSOXX snow socks for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles are approved in every state with chain laws. NORSOXX for passenger cars is in compliance with chain laws for passenger cars in every US state.

  • Canada

    NORSOXX for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles is generally approved across Canada.

  • Europe

    NORSOXX is certified according to European standard EN16662-1. Following EU procedures, the standard
    has been implemented as national standard in all EU member states, as well as in Norway, Iceland, Serbia and Turkey. This means, NORSOXX for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles below 3,5 t gross weight can now be used whenever snow chains are mandatory in any country of the EU (except Austria). 

    Switzerland: NORSOXX for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles is a legally accepted alternative to snow chains.

  • Japan

    The Japanese Ministry of Transportation released updated regulations concerning the use of traction devices. NORSOXX for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles can be used when snow chains are required.
